Location

We are situated just ten metres from the front door to the cable car, there is no need to queue for a ski bus, no need to carry ski gear through the village, we are the closest to the cable car.

For those who may not have been skiing before, Arinsal and location of The Hotel Montane just a few metres from the main cable car offer an unparalelled combination of convenience for ski hire and piste access and comfort in an oasis of quality in the heart of the village.

Arinsal Ski School located at the top end of the cable car caters for beginners, families and more advanced skiers with english instructors who will make you feel at home and at ease.

Arinsal is a beautiful village in Andorra, set at an altitude of between 1550 and 2560 metres. In the winter, it offers excellent skiing and snowboarding for beginners, as well as a good selection of runs for intermediates. The fact that Arinsal is part of Vallnord means that Arcalis and Pal are included with the lift pass, offering a fantastic variety of runs, as well as some great places to cut off the pistes, if you need something a little more challenging.

Off the slopes, Arinsal is a friendly resort, attracting repeat visitors year after year. There is a great selection of bars and restaurants which cater for all kinds of taste. The restaurants include British and Irish favourites as well as Mexican, Italian, Argentinian, not forgetting the local Catalan cuisine. Bars in Arinsal are family friendly, often providing entertainment such as singers, magicians and nightly activities.

Summer Activities.

The Naturlandia park have the longest alpine coaster in the world on the la Rabassa mountain in Andorra.

The ‘tobotronc’ alpine coaster is a carriage that allows a trip on a type of sledge that circulates on steel rails, controlled at all times by the person travelling. It is not a roller coaster, as the person decides the speed at which they wish to travel, without exceeding 40 kilometres an hour, and the seat belts offer maximum safety. The difference in level will be approximately 400 metres, and is the first stone to the Naturlandia project. The uphill section is around 1,700 metres, whereas the downhill will be 3,550, so the la Rabassa ‘tobotronc’ is the longest in the world at nearly 5,300 metres.

Enjoy the fastest growing summer sport in the world. Once again The Hotel Montané is the best positioned hotel offering access to the Vallnord Mountain Biking Park. Vallnord hosted the 2008 and 2009 world cup BCI and offers many challenging downhill runs, utilising the cable cars from Arinsal and La Massana

Andorra offers great fishing opportunities in the rivers and lakes surrounded by spectacular scenery. Fly fishing the rivers is best done in the higher parishes. In the Arinsal valley one can fish down to Erts, in the Ordino valley fishing is best above La Cortinada and on the Valira del Orient which runs down the main eastern valley, fishing is best above Ransol.

The season for river fishing starts in mid-April, but you must wait until mid-June for the lake fishing season to start. The season ends by tradition on our National Day on September 7.

Licences for visitors are available from any fishing tackle shop or from the local tourist information offices in each parish. There is a daily ticket (only for lake fishing) which costs 5.40€, but the more normal weekly permit for all areas costs 15.95€.

Caldea

We are also opposite the bus stop to Andorra La Vella where you can spend a lazy day exploring the duty free shops of Andorra, or visit Europe's largest health spa called Caldea.

In Roman times, the word 'calidae', from which the name of the town of Escaldes in Andorra originates, meant a warm water source. Two thousand years later, Caldea offers you a new form of well-being and enjoyment, an encounter with water in all its possible forms, from steam to ice. Caldea uses the water which emerges from the thermal source in Escaldes-Engordany at 68º C to create a harmonious interrelation between the body and water in futuristic surroundings. In ancient Catalan, the word 'caldea' means tonifying and warm. The Caldea offers 6000 square meters of inside and outside lagoons, saunas and jacuzzis.
